I took on the role of Designer at a new lab starting at the University of Maine founded by Professor Sofian Audry. The aim of the lab is to use artificial intelligence and art in conjunction to create exhibitions, software, and tools for other artists. We named the lab the A³ Lab to represent Art and Artificial Agents.

The logo for A³ is inspired by both the “cubed” name and the prevalence of the hexagon in neural networking and organic chemistry.  After trying out many typeface options, I landed on Roboto Slab.

This is the first time I’ve developed a graphic charter for an organization. It’s still in progress, but can be accessed here.

There’s so much more for me to accomplish at this lab and I couldn’t be more excited. My next goal is to begin designing the UI for the software created by the lab.
